The hiring process at Island Hospital is "decentralized". If you submit a complete application and/or resume for a posted position, please be assured that it will be forwarded within 24 hours to the appropriate manager for review and consideration. If there is no posted position at the time you apply, your application will be stored for one year and/or until you call and ask that it be submitted for a particular job opening.

Because we have “open solicitation” for positions (meaning we accept applications every day whether or not there are positions actually open), we receive a very large volume of applications. Therefore, Island Hospital does not respond to all application submissions.

If however, you are actually selected for an interview, the hospital will personally contact you following the interview with a determination regarding the outcome. Contacts will generally be by telephone but occasionally by letter/memo.

You may contact us at any time to have your pending application referred to a department manager for consideration for a current opening. If we are unable to locate your original, you may be asked to complete a second application.
